The Oslo Process

Cluster Bomb Ban Treaty

The Convention on Cluster Munitions has been signed on December 3, 2008, in Oslo. Over 100 countries signed the Treaty, including Canada.

For Handicap International, which has been mobilized for the past five years to ban cluster munitions, this treaty is a real step forward in terms of International Humanitarian Law (IHL); from now on, no more countries will be able to use cluster bombs with complete impunity and the rights of the victims will finally be recognized.
